A new campaign launches today, giving people the chance to enter a draw to win one of 5000 $30 vouchers to spend on lunch or an experience in the CBD or North Adelaide.

Adelaide’s Long Lunch, an initiative of the newly-created Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) is part of a $150,000 economic stimulus package targeting the city’s hospitality and tourism operators.

Vouchers can be redeemed to buy food at participating venues.

“Lunch is a time that businesses in the city have been hurting the most with so many city workers still based at home,” AEDA chair Nikki Govan said.

“(This) is designed to drive foot traffic and spending in the city in March and April, where restaurants, pubs, cafes and tourism experience operators are recovering from a challenging 12 months.”

Part Time Lover director Josh Baker has signed up his Pilgrim Lane restaurant to be part of the initiative.

“The hospitality and tourism sectors have been hit so hard through this pandemic and we need all the help we can get,” Mr Baker said.

“It is really important to get people back into the CBD, to get people back into Leigh and Peel streets to visit our small bars … it’s essential for us to stay alive. People can feel safe coming into our venues, we have delicious food, we have the best produce in Australia, the best wine, the best beer … come and have some fun.We couldn’t be happier to entertain you.”

The $30 vouchers will be distributed via a ballot system.

To enter, South Australians can register their details at experienceadelaide.com.au from today.
