Fans of western suburbs cafe Homesick Henley might have noticed it was closed this week – but it didn’t stay that way for long.
The business changed hands on Thursday and after a quick refresh, reopened 24 hours later as Hey ZoZo’s, with new operator Elliot Brown at the helm.
The coffee will stay the same, but it’s a completely different menu with classics such as smashed avo, brekkie rolls and a selection of sandos available.
It’s Mr Brown’s second hospitality venue, after he launched McLaren Vale cafe Hey Juj in November last year.
“I’m looking forward to coming back down this way, it’s such a vibrant and busy location and
after how rewarding Hey Juj has been, I’m hoping that this new location will be the same,”
he said.
Hey Juj was named after his grandmother and Mr Brown is again keeping the signage in the family, with Hey ZoZo’s in honour of his cousin Zoe Buttery.
“This new space is for everyone and there will be something on the menu for everyone as
well,” he said.
“Come in, take a seat or grab a coffee and a snack on your way through.”
Homesick Henley owner Yaz Sudic said it was always a dream of his to own his own cafe but now he wanted to spend more time with his family, including his 11-month-old baby Alara.
“It’s a lot of hard work running a hospitality business,” said Mr Sudic, who also plays semi-professional soccer.
“It’s just about trying to find the right balance in life.
“But Elliot’s vibe and personality really suits the place and the area.
“It’s worked out really well.”
Hey ZoZo’s is open now at 1/337 Military Rd, Henley Beach.
