Flashback Friday: The millennial trend that no one wants making a comeback

The 2010s are calling!

The 90s are calling: jelly shoes are back for summer

Ah, the 2010s.

A time of a whole lot of questionable trends.

Most notably, we had coloured jeans, chunky statement necklaces, poofs in our hair, and the colours teal and coral.

I dare say, you read that list and cringed, just like I did writing it.

Well, apparently one of everyone’s least favourite trends is trying to make a comeback in 2025, and I have to say, I’m not ready.

“They’re coming back!”

A TikTok from @mariasiivonen has gone viral this week, showing items in a Flying Tiger store in Europe donning moustaches in all shapes and sizes.

Yes, you read that right. Moustaches.

“Oh no, they’re coming back,” she wrote in the video.

“The owls are next.”

Now, if you need a refresher, moustaches were a huge trend back in the early 2010s thanks to all the hype around ‘hipsters’. And, let me tell you, you could get a moustache on ANYTHING. There was even a huge trend of people tattooing moustaches on their fingers - if that’s you please let me know if you’ve lasered it off.

The history book on the shelf…

Unsurprisingly, many people in the comments were pretty horrified at the sight, hoping that the trend wouldn’t go global. But, due to the cyclical nature of fashion and trends, it wasn’t completely unexpected.

“History always repeats itself,” said one commenter.

“We're just living in a loop.. welcome back 2015,” another said.

“I knew i shouldve gotten the moustache tattoo on my finger,” a third joked.

Is this the beginning of the end?

But, it did leave people worried that other trends from the same era would be making a comeback, and yeah, fair enough.

“If mustaches are coming back what is stopping galaxy print to come back? I’m scared,” said one commenter.

“That means London vs New York decorations era is coming back in a few months,” another person said.

“I'd take the mustache comeback over those damn plastic striped ‘sunglasses’ any day of the week,” said a third.
