Did you know this?
A Bluey fan has taken to the Adult Bluey Fans Facebook group after noticing a small change in Bandit’s fur.
“So I thought that it was weird that Bandit’s black spot on his tail was in a different place when he was younger,” the poster said.
“I figured maybe it changed cause he was an adult and Bluey’s would move too. But in Surprise when you see Bluey as an adult hers is in the same place as it was when she was a child.”

“Fur patterns can change!”
Many people in the comments assumed that this change was intentional, given how common it is for a dog’s fur to change fairly significantly as they age.
“Some dogs change, some don't. We have a heeler in the family named Tip because his tail looked like it was dipped in white paint. As an adult he does not have any white on his tail,” said one commenter.
“Fur patterns can change as dogs get older!” another agreed.
“Sometimes when dogs get older the fur changes. I have a golden retriever mix and when we got him as a puppy he was cream but as he got older he became a brown/red,” said a third.
“Heelers are known to have a changing coat. When they are born they are completely white (some have black spots, some don’t) and as they get older their color comes in. And it really never stops ‘coming in’. I am constantly seeing changes in my blue heelers coat as the seasons pass,” said another commenter.
Others agreed it was intentional, but perhaps for a different reason.
“Some people theorize the story he told was portrayed through the mind of the girls, and I feel like Bluey sees herself if her dad, so she figured he looked like her as a kid, stripes and all,” one commenter suggested.
“Maybe it's a joke about a receding hairline,” said another.
“Maybe he was in his rebellious teen stage and dyed it,” another commenter guessed.
Maybe it was just a mistake?
Most, however, assumed the difference to be nothing more than human error.
“I guess somebody somewhere just messed up in the animation,” one person said.
“That is what we call continuity errors. Or it could be something like how the animators pit long dogs all over the place,” said another commenter.
“Pretty sure they just used Bluey as the starting design model for kid Bandit, instead of creating a whole new design, and they forgot to change the tail,” a third suggested.
