It’s a working craft brewery and distillery but the food you’ll find at Lot 100 isn’t what you’d expect alongside a pint or average G&T.

The two-year-old collective cellar door and restaurant has stepped things up a notch with an all-inclusive degustation menu that’s worthy of the trip alone. Lot 100 is, of course, the home of Mismatch Brewing Co., Adelaide Hills Distillery, Hills Cider, Vinteloper Wines and Ashton Valley Fresh, so you can expect all the juicy good things to be served with each inspired course.

Behind the menu is the talented Shannon Fleming, former head chef of the much-lauded Orana. His skill in getting the best out of native ingredients is front and centre in a progression of dishes that straddle the adventurous and the familiar.

Coffin Bay oysters with karkalla and lilly pilly might progress to slices of cured Murray cod that decorate the plate along with sunrise lime and Geraldton wax.

Meanwhile a black barley dish, topped with burnt leek and anointed with vibrant pine mushroom oil, bursts with flavour, hitting all the right umami and acidic notes.

This all leads to a hearty main, such as angus scotch with sides and then dessert.

It might sound fancy on paper, but it’s all tasty, well executed fare, delivered in a relaxed environment that doesn’t have you feeling like you need to be in your Sunday best.

But if it’s a more casual meal you’re after, the restaurant is still delivering its wood oven pizzas in the courtyard along with antipasto, a dish of the day and dessert for groups of four or more.

Make a day of it, and grab yourself a bottle of your favourite drop for home.
