Melissa Cirocco named SA’s best skin specialist

An Adelaide skin superhero has taken out the top prize in the search for the state’s best specialist – and has shared her tips to look amazing.

Melissa Cirocco is on a mission to help South Australians feel better in their skin.

The skin specialist joined the Unfiltered Aesthetics team in Fulham only six months ago but has been a passionate member of the industry for more than 15 years.

From teenagers with acne to menopausal women, Ms Cirocco’s client base is broad but “rewarding”.

“I’ve got numerous clients that would not leave the house because they would get teased at school (or) they would not feel confident wearing make-up,” the 38-year-old said.

“They’ve come to me and we have put them on a good skincare routine.

“We do thorough consultations, we go through everything that they’re eating, how they’re sleeping, their water intake, their stress – and then they’re so happy now with the results they’re getting.”

When it comes to her top skin secrets, Ms Cirocco said it was important not just look externally but also internally as activities in our day-to-day lives affect our skin’s health.

“If you look good, you’ll feel good … the benefit that it has, in turn on your mental health is huge,” she said.

“I went through a lot of my own health struggles, and so I think that’s when I discovered just how important it is to look after your health internally, and then good skin just follows, and good mental health, which is very important these days.”
