Miss June The Salon named SA’s best hair extension specialist

The people have spoken. A local South Australian hair salon’s hair extension brand helping women look and feel their best has been named the state’s best.

It’s the current hair trend allowing women to lengthen and volumise their hair in only a few hours.

Hair extensions have become a popular part of many people’s hair routine with a local South Australian salon being named the state’s best hair extension specialist.

Brittany Pressler founded Miss June The Salon 14 years ago and now operates two locations in Semaphore and Holden Hill.

“I always knew that I wanted to be a hairdresser from when I was very young,” Ms Pressler said.

“I was 23 when I started up my own salon (and) went from just two people to now I have over 15 staff.”

Two-and-a-half years ago Ms Pressler joined forces with colleague, Jodie Pomeroy to start their own hair extension brand, Extend by Miss June.

It was a gruelling process creating the perfect product with “months and months” of behind the scenes work going towards creating high quality extensions.

“We (gave) lots of our clients complimentary hair so we could keep an eye on it and see how it went with colour and how it would withstand heat styling and different products being used, and all of that,” the 37-year-old said.

“So, yeah, it was lots of months of trying and testing until we knew that we had the best quality that we could.”

Extend by Miss June products pride themselves on supplying customers with a “seamless blend” and are made from “human, raw, virgin hair” sourced from Vietnam.

With an expansive colour range and the ability to customise your own shade multiple salons across South Australia have begun stocking the brand.

Prices range depending on the amount of hair needed but an installation generally starts at $500 and can last for up to 18 months with maintenance every six to eight weeks.

It’s an investment that Ms Pressler said helped her customers “feel good about (themselves) everyday” particularly for those struggling with hair loss.

“It makes a big difference, it’s nice to be able to see them have that confidence back straight away,” Ms Pressler said.
