ALDI launches $12.99 Squishmallow dupes and thank gosh for that

No longer do you need to take out a second mortgage to afford these bad boys  - you can just head straight to the middle aisle next Wednesday.

If you're tired of shelling out the big bucks for the coveted Squishmallows, we have some exciting news for you, courtesy of ALDI.

Side note: If you don't know what Squishmallows are, where have you/your kids been? 

Actual side note: They're a squishy, huggable, pillow-with-a-face stuffed toy that has become incredibly popular among kids and collectors alike, with some designs selling for hundreds of dollars online.

It's a viral phenomenon on TikTok too, with the hashtag #Squishmallows amassing over five billion views.

'Squishies': ALDI's cheaper Squishmallows dupe

No longer do you take out a second mortgage to afford these bad boys (in THIS economy?!) - you can just head straight to the middle aisle next Wednesday, the 14th of June and snag ALDI's much cheaper, equally as cute versions as part of their Playmates Special Buys sale.

Introducing, 'Squishees', ALDI's dupe of the beloved stuffed animals. 

The range includes five different characters - a sloth, bumblebee, giraffe, bear and dinosaur.

They're nearly half the price of the originals

Now let's chat numbers, 'coz we know that's what you're really here for.

The OG Squishmallows come in a range of sizes with the 30cm setting you back around $25, $36 for the 40cm ones and around $90 for the jumbo 50cm ones.

In comparison, ALDI'S new Squishees are 30cm and cost just $12.99, so nearly half the price of the Squishmallows of the same size.

"I NEEEEED these"

While news of the launch is yet to hit the online fan groups, they were abuzz with chatter about the range last year when ALDI dropped a similar collection.

"They are so cute and so cheap! My kids and I are Squishmallow addicts!" one mum said. 

"My kids are mad about them, we got the whole set," someone else wrote.

"I can't believe ALDI has Squishies!!! My favourite is the sloth!" another fan added.

"I NEEEEED these," chimed in a fourth.

And another woman wrote, "My daughter loves hers, it's her stress ball."

"Literally went shopping for my family for ice cream. Walked out with five Squishies for my kids," someone else joked.
