$235m office tower development confirmed for Adelaide at historic GPO siteA new 20-storey office tower has been confirmed for the historic Adelaide GPO site at VictoriaSquare after the State Government committed to a 12-year lease for approximately half of thetower.The Attorney-General’s Department in Pirie Street will move to the new $235 million 24,500m2office tower at Precinct GPO from July 2019, once the new building is complete.Leading Australian property funds management and investment group Charter Hall is expectedto begin construction in the second quarter of next year, supporting an estimated 645 jobsduring construction and fit-out of the Precinct.The State Government’s commitment to the lease will underpin this stage of theredevelopment of Precinct GPO, which also includes a proposal to refurbish the heritage PostOffice and Telephone Exchange buildings.
