Zac meets fans in the Flinders but where is his rumoured girlfriend?

Hollywood star Zac Efron is enjoying the rugged beauty of SA’s outback while in the state shooting his new movie, but is he still enjoying his Byron Bay based beauty as well?

Hollywood star Zac Efron is enjoying the rugged beauty of SA’s outback while in the state shooting his new movie.

The High School Musical star was spotted walking with a friend near the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park this week, as he continues filming on Stan Original thriller Gold, alongside Anthony Hayes and award-winning actor Susie Porter.

Zac stopped to take selfies and have a chat with Adelaide fan Jake Wagenfeller, 20, who drove seven hours for a glimpse of the popular US actor.

“He was lovely! He was very, very nice and welcoming. He was out for a walk with his mate and I called him over and we spoke about his time in SA,” says Jake of Zac, who wore a black beanie, sunnies and was sporting a thick beard.

“He just said that it’s been really nice and relaxing being here and that he’s spent most of his time in the outback.”

Meanwhile, Vanessa Valladares who was rumoured to have broken up with Zac recently, seems to still be getting cosy with the Hollywood heart-throb, if not a little more coy than previously.

The Byron Bay beauty is said to have been spotted attending the same gym as Zac but left via a different exit, in order to avoid being photographed by the waiting paparazzi.

Zac arrived in Adelaide in early November, spending two weeks in the city before production moved to regional SA - just prior to our strict three-day lockdown.

The movie is a “taut thriller about greed”, and centres on two men who find an enormous gold nugget while travelling through the outback.

For Jake, meeting Zac was an incredible experience he’ll never forget.

“I’ve looked up to him since i was 5 bc of high school musical so it meant a hell of a lot to me to finally be able to meet him and thank him for the impact he’s had in my life,” he says.

Zac is anticipated to still be in South Australia for the next few weeks before returning to Byron Bay for Christmas.
