The morning after their dream wedding, Jessica and Jack Alderman braved the morning air and headed down to Port Noarlunga jetty for their underwater “wreck the dress” photoshoot.

“(We) put our freediving to the test, doing it fully dressed in wedding apparel posing for photos on breath hold,” Mrs Alderman said.

The daring act led to some incredible photographs captured by local Adelaide photographer Steven Duncan from SvenStudios.

After discovering Mr Duncan’s work, which featured similar seaside images, the pair knew he was the man to make their vision come to life.

Fortunately, he had underwater gear to make it happen.

“Once he mentioned the freediving idea … we got really excited about it,” Mrs Alderman said.

“A lot of what we do is at the beach. We love the beach.”

The couple, who are currently based in Western Australia, grew up in the beachy suburbs of Aldinga and Moana and share a passion for freediving.

“There’s a lot of memories at that place,” Mrs Alderman said.

“The water really represented who we are as a couple.”

As for Mrs Alderman’s wedding gown, it was not really “wrecked” with a professional cleaner able to bring it back to its former glory.

In line with their interest in “thrillseeking”, the newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon in Bali, spending their time completing their Advanced Open Water ticket in scuba diving.

“(We took photos of) the Japanese WWII shipwreck in front of our accommodation, (freedived) to new depths and (spearfished) in the crystal clear tropical waters,” Mrs Alderman said.
