Novak Djokovic has shown off his tennis skills in Adelaide, enjoying a hit on his hotel balcony thanks to Nova breakfast radio duo Ben & Liam.
The world’s best tennis player is stuck in quarantine in North Adelaide, but was lured out of his room by radio hosts Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton, who were playing tennis out the front of the Majestic M suites.
After watching the pair having a hit, Djokovic exclaimed: “I love it.... no, no, wait, now it’s our turn,” and shared some volleys with his coach on the balcony.
The Nova duo also offered to change the name of the radio station to ‘Novak919’ tomorrow, which Djokovic eagerly accepted.
“Yes, I’m expecting to see the ‘K’ right there...!” he said loudly.
Harvey described the interaction as one of their “favourite radio moments so far.”
“No Djoke. Forget about Leyton Hewitt, our new favourite tennis player Novak Djokovic (Unless Leyton plays some tennis with us anytime soon),” he said.
Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Simona Halep, Naomi Osaka and Serena and Venus Williams are in South Australia for the January 29 exhibition tournament.
The stars arrived in Adelaide last Thursday and were taken into quarantine at the Majestic M Suites, but have been given exemptions from quarantine to practise at Memorial Drive, subject to strict conditions.
The players will compete in the A Day at the Drive tournament at Memorial Drive on January 29, a warm-up tournament ahead of the Australian Open.
