A segment on 2Day FM’s Breakfast Show descended into dramatic scenes when presenter Erin Molan suddenly fainted this morning, prompting co-host Hughesy to call for an emergency ad break.

The 40-year-old media personality was reduced to panic mode while facing her fear of spiders with an arachnophobic listener, shrieking with terror then dropping to the floor in footage shared on Instagram with a hefty warning.

The clip sees a shaky Erin say to the camera: “We’re about to have spiders put on us,” before letting out a series of nervous moans and breathing heavily as the small but quick-moving tarantula is released beside her, with the handler advising both women to “breathe” and “stay calm”.

While listener Linda was able to hold the spider briefly with guidance from the handler, when it came to Erin’s turn with the spider, she let out a horrified scream and shook with fear.

“We can stop if you want to stop,” the spider handler said, as Hughesy echoed the sentiment in the background.

“The most important thing is that you feel safe and that you feel comfortable.”

Molan, determined to carry on, agreed to have the spider put on her, before slowing falling to the floor.

“We need to go to a break, go to a break, absolutely. We need to go to a break,” Hughesy frantically responded, before a producer yells for “everyone to get out of the studio”.

In footage from after the shocking moment, Molan is seen apologising profusely and speaking with first aid, embracing Linda in a hug for helping confront her fears.

All appeared to be fine as she managed to laugh off the moment.

“All’s well that ends well,” Hughesy was seen saying.
