With multiple endings in the can, The Voice 2021 has wrapped production.

Coaches Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian, Keith Urban and Jessica Mauboy shot the series finale on Sunday night at Carriageworks in Eveleigh with the series to be broadcast later this year.

To keep details secret and to allow viewers watching the season to vote, producers filmed several different endings with multiple winner outcomes.

Production has been based in Sydney for the past several weeks and we hear it has been long hours of shooting.

Whereas previous seasons have been marred by conflict on the coaching panel, it is understood this year’s mentors got along “swimmingly”.

Brit chart topper Ora is due to head home to the UK over the coming weeks.

She and Mauboy on Thursday took time out from filming to visit sick kids at Ronald McDonald House at Westmead.

HOME AND AWAY TO HOLLYWOOD

Former Home And Away star Raechelle Banno and her identical twin sister, Karina, have landed a four movie deal with America’s Lifetime Movie Network.

The sister act have been back and forth between Australia and Canada over the past year, spending no less than six weeks in quarantine to shoot the V.C. Landers movie series based on books Ruby, Pearl In The Mist, All That Glitters and Hidden Jewel.

“You never know if and when your next job is going to come around as an actor so to get four films in a row offered upfront and to be able to share the screen day in and day out with your sister was such a dream,” Raechelle told Confidential. “Every single job that comes is a gift and so to have a job that we get to share together was really unimaginable. And also to have it come at a time where work alone is scare for anyone, no matter how experienced you are, was such a wonderful thing.”

Raechelle, who played Olivia Richards on Home And Away from 2015 to 2018, plays Ruby, while Karina is her sister Giselle in the series that was shot in Vancouver and is set in New Orleans. It also stars Americans Naomi Judd, Kristian Alfonso, Gil Bellows and Crystal Fox and will premiere on Foxtel on May 3, while available on demand two days earlier.

“Every time that I step on to a job, whether that be in Australia or overseas, I always have this moment of utter gratitude for Home And Away because it really does prepare you for any environment,” Raechelle explained.

“These jobs were shot very quickly and being Ruby, I was in every single scene so you do not have time to not be prepared and Home And Away, if it teaches you anything, it teaches you to be prepared at all costs. So I felt like I had my Home And Away family by my side guiding me through that really. It really trained me to walk in to such a big endeavour.”

NO AUSTRALIAN BAFTA LOVE

It was slimmer pickings than usual on the Australian front at the 2021 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).

Director Shannon Murphy was our main hopeful, missing out on the coveted Best Director for her acclaimed film festival darling, Babyteeth, to top gong winner, Nomadland’s Chloe Zhao.

None of the usual suspects like Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett were up for honours.

Margot Robbie produced Promising Young Woman, which starred Carey Mulligan, took home Best British Film and Best Original Screenplay for writer Emerald Fennell.

Elsewhere in the top nods, Sir Antony Hopkins won Leading Actor for The Father while Frances McDormand was named Leading Actress for Nomadland.
