Taking home $250,000, The Traitors champion Alex Duggan is ready to build a life with her partner Tiffany Papaemanouil and even make a return to reality TV as a couple.
And, after wining the Network Ten whodunit reality show hosted by actor Rodger Corser, Duggan is keen to see more representation of the LGBTQIA+ community in mainstream media.
“It’s a slow change. (Representation) is starting to come through, but there needs to a be a bit more. There’s always room for more,” she says.
Social media co-ordinator and model Duggan, 25, says her win – $250,000 in silver bars – will fast track her future with 31-year-old Papaemanouil, who is an Olympic Dam FIFO worker.
“We have big milestones that a lot of people want to reach and now we can achieve them in the near future,” Duggan says.
The two want to marry: “When she proposes to me!,” she jokes.
Buying a house and having a family are also part of her plans to “start our lives together” – with their beloved Cavoodle Louie in tow.
The prize money means the couple can afford IVF: “I will probably be the one to carry … I will bounce back pretty quickly,” Duggan says.
Duggan and Papaemanouil met three years ago over Instagram, also having mutual friends.
“We talked a lot on the phone and once we met in person we were inseparable,” Duggan says.
“The main thing we love doing together is eating food and going out for dinner. We don’t splurge on anything else.”
A Miss Universe Australia finalist in 2019 and signed with Adelaide agency The Models, Duggan said she felt comfortable having “a few cameras in front of your face” while filming The Traitors.
And her first stint on reality TV may not be her last.
“It was a good experience and if it were the right show …,” Duggan says.
She would also be eager to share the experience with Papaemanouil and open to the possibility of competing as a couple on The Block or The Amazing Race: “I am the more serious one, she brings the laughter, so the audience might like her better than me!”
