From top chefs to footy stars and TV favourites, these are some of the big names who have welcomed a new bub this year or are expecting an addition to their family in 2023.
Callum Hann and Crystal Jagger
SA food favourite Callum Hann and wife Crystal plated up something extra special in March, with the arrival of their second child, a baby boy named Henry.
The former MasterChef star and restaurateur shared the happy news on social media, posting an adorable photo of the new addition to the family, who is a brother to their two-year old daughter Elle.
“Henry Alexander Hann, 24.3.22. Healthy and happy. Hanging out with his lion, a gift from his older sister Elle. Feeling lots of love,” he captioned the Instagram snap.
Hann, who tied the knot with Crystal in the Adelaide Hills in early 2018, was immediately inundated with congratulations from friends including MasterChef judge Jock Zonfrillo, and fellow ex-contestants Poh Ling Yeow, Rose Adam and Justine Schofield.
Mark Butler and Daniela Ritorto
Labor frontbencher Mark Butler and wife Daniela Ritorto celebrated their new bundle of joy in February.
“Daniela and I are thrilled to welcome our beautiful boy Charlie Dominic to the world,” Butler announced on Twitter.
Charlie is the couple’s first child, following their wedding in February last year. Butler has two other children – Ellie and Issac – with his first wife, Suzanne.
Taylor and Ellie Walker
The veteran Crow and his wife Ellie added a baby girl to their growing nest in October.
Tex shared the news on social media, introducing “daddy’s little princess” Harriet ‘Hattie’ Rose Walker to the world.
“Welcome to the world darling! You are dad’s little princess today & always,” he wrote.
“Ellie you are an absolute star, I love you.”
Ellie also shared her own post, writing: “We are so in love with you darling Hattie.”
Harriet joins older brothers Louis, born in 2021, and Hugo, born in 2019, in a growing cadre of children at the Adelaide Crows.
Sam Mac and Rebecca James
Adelaide’s own Sunrise weatherman paid a heartfelt tribute to his partner Rebecca after she gave birth to their daughter Margot Grace McMillan.
The couple welcomed their first child together in September and he took to Instagram to celebrate the news and recognise his partner’s tireless efforts.
“I will never forget what she endured over the past 9 months, & particularly the past few days for our little family, Unbelievable strength. What a woman,” he wrote.
His next post was dedicated to Ms James with a photo taken just seven minutes after she gave birth.
Will Goodings and Alison Boag
Before he joined Rosanna Mangiarelli as one of Seven’s new weekday newsreaders, Goodings celebrated an even bigger honour: becoming a first time father.
Goodings’ wife Alison gave birth to the couple’s first child, Rosie Mae, in October, and the FIVEaa breakfast co-host was over the moon.
“It has been the experience of a lifetime getting to know our girl Rosie,” he wrote on social media.
Rory and Belinda Sloane
The Crows captain and wife Belinda expanded their brood with the arrival of their first baby girl, Summer Maree.
The couple shared the happy news in a joint social media post in November.
“The perfect fourth addition to our family. So grateful and in love,” said the caption.
Summer is sister to Sonny, born in 2019, and Bodhi, born in 2021. In 2018, the couple lost their first child Leo, in a stillbirth.
Hundreds of people responded to the post offering their congratulations including club mates and their partners.
Belinda also shared a cute photo of Sonny cuddling his gorgeous new sibling.
Sam Powell-Pepper and partner Brya
The tough midfielder declared, he was the “happiest he’s ever been” after he and partner Brya welcomed their first child Frankie into the world in March.
“We love you forever our precious girl. Honestly the best day of my life. Brya you’re amazing I love you so much,” he captioned a post on Instagram.
Deni Varnhagen and Jarrad Duthie
The former Crows AFLW player and partner welcomed their first child, a baby girl called Hali Julia, in October.
“Our happy and healthy beautiful girl, we are so in love with you already,” she captioned a social media post.
The 29-year-old, who made headlines when she joined a legal challenge against SA’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate, said planning a family had played a role in her crusade.
Patrick and Mardi Dangerfield
The departed Crow – who won his first AFL flag this year with the Cats – and wife Mardi had another reason to celebrate with the arrival of their third child, Winnifred Elizabeth Dangerfield, in October.
“Flic meeting the new edition (sic) to the @catswomens engine room for the first time. Winnifred Elizabeth Dangerfield. Go get em’ Winni,” the proud dad shared on Instagram. Winnifred is a sister to George and Felicity.
Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma
The Pitch Perfect star and her partner announced in November they had welcomed their first child, Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson, via a surrogate.
Wilson described their new baby as “the BEST gift“.
“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making … but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care,” she said.
Kyle Sandilands and Tegan Kynaston
The radio shock jock ran out of his Sydney breakfast radio show one August morning to take his heavily pregnant fiancee to the hospital.
Later it was confirmed the couple were toasting the arrival of baby Otto via C-section, weighing three kilograms and with blonde hair.
Sandilands said the couple were immediately smitten with their bundle of joy.
“We just look at him the entire time, like a couple of goons, just staring at him – and then we look at each other and smile,” he said.
Sandilands and Kynaston, who have been dating since 2019, became engaged last December and announced their pregnancy in February.

Kayla Itsines and Jae Woodroffe
The Adelaide-born global fitness icon revealed in July she was expecting a baby with her new partner – and fiance – Woodroffe.
The multimillion-dollar co-founder of Sweat fitness app, Itsines shares her first child, three-year-old Arna with former fiance and business partner Tobi Pearce.
“Arna cannot wait to be a big sister and @jaewoodroffe and I could not be more happy right now!!!!! SO much to celebrate & be grateful for!” she wrote on social media.
Will McDonald and Samantha Kelly
Nine newsreader McDonald is set to celebrate the new year with the arrival of his first baby.
He and partner Kelly have announced they’re expecting a new addition to the family in January, joining pet dog Rupert.
“Mum, Dad, and even Rupert, can’t wait to have our lives turned upside down with love and sleep deprivation,” said McDonald, who was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in July 2020 but is currently cancer-free.
Paul and Alice Seedsman
“Baby Seed” is on the way after Crows winger Paul Seedsman and wife Alice announced they are expecting their first baby.
The Seedsmans posted a joint Instagram post earlier this month confirming the happy news.
“Baby Seed in June 2023,” they captioned the snap.
Hundreds of comments flooded the couple’s post wishing the couple well including fellow players and their partners.
