A trio of high-profile TV news presenters have redefined the term ‘switching stations’ in a relationship trade with a surprising twist.
Just months after separating from wife, Channel 10 weather presenter Tiffany Warne, 7NEWS sports reporter Josh Money is believed to have embarked on a relationship with his former Channel 9 colleague Beth Excell.
In a plot reversal worthy of a soap opera, it’s understood Warne has since moved on with Excell’s former husband, Joel Wolstenholme. Ten’s rising star recently shared a social media photo of her and Wolstenholme together at a wedding.
While both Excell and Warne have private Instagram pages, Wolstenholme shared a post in September which included a cozy selfie with Warne and a picture of the weather reporter smiling with a friend.
Originally from WA, Money tied the knot with Warne in 2020. The couple are pictured together on multiple occasions on the AFL reporter’s Instagram account, with the final post featuring Warne shared on July 12, 2023.
The Advertiser reported in November 2023 that Money was still married to Warne in an article about his move to 7NEWS from Nine to replace Theo Doropoulos.
It’s understood the couple separated earlier this year, not long after the ex-Nine sports presenter switched TV stations.
In the months since, it’s believed Money has started dating Nine’s top crime reporter Excell, though the new couple have not shared photos together on social media.
The Advertiser understands all four of the parties are well known to each other, with the trio photographed together at various media events.
Excell and Warne have previously been pictured together, and Excell even attended Warne’s birthday party in July 2023.
According to his Instagram account, Money is following Wolstenholme, however, this follow has not been reciprocated.
Warne and Money have also unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Perth-born Money has been in Adelaide for almost eight years and has worked for all the major stations, including Ten, Nine, ABC and Fox Sports.
Warne landed the plum role as Channel 10 Adelaide’s weather presenter in January 2023, replacing Kate Freebairn, who returned from maternity leave as the station’s sole newsreader.
Also from Perth, Warne has lived in SA for six years, and was previously a reporter on current affairs show Today Tonight. She’s also worked on Nova’s weekend breakfast radio show alongside Jodie Oddy and Max Burford.
Channel 10, Money, Excell and Wolstenholme were contacted for comment without response.
