Stunning surge for Nova as Adelaide’s breakfast radio battle heats up

A new pair is threatening to topple ABC Radio Adelaide at the top of the breakfast radio ratings – and they’ve made an impressive jump to get there. See the latest results.

Nova breakfast duo Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton have surged to the top of the FM dial in Adelaide’s latest radio ratings results.

In a stunning survey for the young pair, Nova secured the biggest increase in listeners in the early morning timeslot, picking up 3.5 share points to finish with 12.3, leapfrogging FIVEaa’s David Penberthy and Will Goodings (11.6) into second spot overall.

They remain behind ABC Adelaide’s Stacey Lee and Nikolai Beilharz, who fell 3 share points but still hold a handy lead in the number 1 spot with 15.8.

After a shaky start, former ABC presenter Ali Clarke’s new-look Mix 102.3 show bounced back in the year’s second survey.

A 1.8 point gain saw Clarke and her co-hosts, AFLW star Erin Phillips and Irish comedian Eddie Bannon, finish with 9.9 and slide into second spot on the FM dial behind Nova.

It’s a welcome result for Clarke, who dominated the ratings at ABC last year before making a surprising move to Mix in January. The revamped Ali Clarke Breakfast Show placed fifth place overall in the year’s first survey in early March.

Cruise 1323 picked up 1.4 points to jump up fifth spot, just ahead of Triple M’s Mark Ricciuto, Chris Dittmar and Laura O’Callaghan, while SAFM’s trio of Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello, Rebecca Morse and Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann, remain in seventh spot in breakfast after a slight gain.

It was a triumphant survey for Nova, which also rose 2.6 points to finish as Adelaide’s number 1 station overall alongside Mix 102.3 on 11.8 share points, ahead of Cruise and former top station ABC, which slumped to fourth following a 1.6 point drop.

Nova also made gains in every timeslot across the board, including the afternoon, drivetime and evening shifts.
