Supermodel Adut Akech is counting down the days to the arrival of her mini me, throwing a pink-themed baby shower.
The African-born beauty, who came here as a child refugee, announced her pregnancy on Instagram in August.
The Valentino Beauty global ambassador did not reveal the gender of her bub, but did talk about her pregnancy journey to vogue.com – saying she discovered she was expecting while visiting family in Adelaide.
The baby shower, which was held in Adelaide at Fettle on Magill Rd, was also a gender reveal.
Adut appeared in a white dress in some of the images, taken by Adelaide photographer Meaghan Coles, and an ‘It’s a girl’ pink dress in others.
Adut, who turns 25 on Christmas Day, and her fiance Samuel Elkhier also posed together in the pictures.
The soiree was carefully curated – with balloons galore, elegantly decorated tables, elaborate flower displays, delicately iced cookies, a sweet large cake, cute cupcakes and blush-coloured mocktails.
Adut’s post – featuring 13 images – was accompanied by a caption “Patiently waiting for you baby”.
With close to 2 million followers on Instagram, Adut was showered with messages from her fans and famous friends.
Among those offering congratulations were models Christy Turlington, Winnie Harlow and Gigi Hadid, who wrote “Gorgeous mommy!!!!!”.
Former editor-in-chief of British Vogue Edward Enninful, whom Adut affectionately calls Papa, commented “Me too!! My grandbaby”.
Adut is widely regarded as one of the world’s top models. She is a face for Estee Lauder and last year she made a VIP guest appearance at the Melbourne Cup, where she wore a custom design by Adelaide couture house Paolo Sebastian.
