An Advertiser poll suggests Adelaide brekky audiences are not keen on the Kyle & Jackie O Show hitting SA airwaves
The Sydney radio titans have inked a history-making deal but does SA want the Kyle & Jackie O Show? A poll by the Advertiser got a resounding result.

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. You either love them or hate them. Then again, some people love to hate them.
Earlier this month they signed a new deal said to be worth $200 million over 10 years. It’s a case of ‘nice work if you can get it’ for them.
But their bosses at Australian Radio Network must be thinking about ways to get more bang for their buck, which is, no doubt, why their Sydney breakfast program Kyle & Jackie O Show is now going to be heard in Melbourne too.
That decision hasn’t been to everyone’s liking. It has also got Adelaide radio industry insiders, and listeners, asking if the show will end up being syndicated here.
Based on our poll however, Adelaide listeners don’t seem very keen on the idea, with the overwhelming majority of voters saying they would not embrace the Kyle & Jackie O Show.
As of writing, nearly 2700 people voted on our Facebook poll – with 2400 saying they would not listen to the show if it aired in Adelaide, while only 266 said they would.
Another 745 people took our in-article poll, with 88 per-cent voting against the radio-duo.
TELL US WHY IN THE COMMENTS
Earlier this year Sandilands told News Corp: “Why would you have the biggest radio show of all time – ever – but only do it in Sydney?”
He also said: “If I was in charge, I’d put the biggest product they’ve got on air nationally.”
If the Kyle & Jackie O Show was syndicated here, it would have to be heard on Mix 102.3.
That’s because the station already broadcasts The Kyle & Jackie O – Hour of Power, Monday to Friday, from 6pm to 7pm.
A Mix spokeswoman has told us not to expect any changes at the station any time soon.
This means The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show – with its namesake, Max Burford, Shane Lowe and Eddie Bannon – is safe for now.
But, in the meantime, we would love to know this. Would you like the powers that be at Mix to cancel The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show and air the Kyle and Jackie O Show instead?
