Music superstar Sam Smith couldn’t stop raving about SA as they enjoyed a relaxing day ahead of their Adelaide show this weekend.
Smith visited The Parade, Norwood, where they ate a sushi lunch and later watched a movie with their crew, on Friday.
Fan Angelo Nickolas said Smith was “very nice” and shook his hand, before security stepped in.
The British pop singer and their small entourage were also spotted drinking some cocktails at a Henley Beach bar on Friday afternoon – where they were keen to talk up Adelaide.
A staff member at Henley House Rooftop Bar said Smith was “lovely” as they geared up for a performance at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday night.
“They and his entourage were wonderful, they were very cool, calm and collected,” the staff member said.
“They were lovely and were gushing about Adelaide as they had some cocktails on the deck in the afternoon sun.”
Smith famously visited SA in January, playing an intimate 300-person gig in front of the d’Arenberg Cube, for his only Australian show on a promotional trip Down Under.
During that performance, he compared Adelaide to popular European tourist hotspot Italy and said they were eager to explore more of the state.
“I honestly didn’t know Adelaide is so beautiful. It’s like Italy,” they said.
“I never knew this existed beyond the city.
“It’s incredibly beautiful and I can’t wait to come back … and get sunburnt, and eat the beautiful food.”
Adelaide is their first stop on the Australian leg of their Gloria the Tour, which continues onto Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
