SAFM breakfast presenter Emma Georgiadis and fiance Edward Kleut are expecting their first child.
An overjoyed Georgiadis made the announcement on-air this morning alongside co-host Bernie Vince.
“We are so happy and excited. This is a dream come true for both of us, we’ve always dreamed of being parents and starting a family,” said the radio host better known as Emma G.
“I’m 37, 38 next week, and we didn’t know when or if this would be possible for us so we’re just over the moon.
“I’ve been thinking about this for years and years. I’ve always wanted to be a mum.”
Georgiadis, who’s due in July, said she wanted to wait until reaching the 20-week mark before sharing the happy news.
“If you’re over 35 you’re told you’re at high risk of everything... so we decided to wait for the 20-week scan to just make sure everything is all good.
“I feel absolutely blessed especially because I know there are so many people out there struggling with fertility. I want to acknowledge that.
“It can be the hardest journey of your life, emotionally and physically. The amount of factors that need to align to just conceive firstly, then grow a healthy baby, is actually miraculous.
“While this is really exciting news for me and my family, I want to send love to all those still on their fertility journey.”
Georgiadis said the couple would find out the gender of their new arrival before the birth – and were already planning a gender reveal announcement.
Georgiadis and Kleut have been together about three years and became engaged in January.
They met just before Georgiadis moved to Sydney in 2022 to further her radio career as co-host of The Pulse, the hit network’s national night time show.
The former primary school teacher and Kleut, who works in banking, did long distance until she secured the plum SAFM role.
Georgiadis and Vince replaced Rebecca “Bec” Morse and Mark “Soda” Soderstrom as the presenters of SAFM’s breakfast show late last year.
Bernie and Emma G – Best Mates for Breakfast made its debut on Monday, November 11.
Georgiadis, 37, started on-air in Adelaide at Fresh FM and moved to a part-time role at the old hit107 (now SAFM), all while working as a primary school teacher at St Ignatius College and Loreto College.
Soon after, she started a full-time position at Triple M, working as an announcer and anchor on the station’s Rush Hour drivetime show with Vince, Andrew Jarman and Greg Blewett, before moving to Sydney.
Bernie & Emma G airs weekdays from 6am to 9am on SAFM or stream anytime on LiSTNR.
