Port Adelaide star Mitch Georgiades has played a starring role in another Adelaide Oval blockbuster – the gender reveal party for a pregnant SAFM radio host.
Power spearhead Georgiades helped make the announcement, kicking a goal to set off coloured cannons and reveal breakfast presenter Emma Georgiadis is expecting a boy.
Dubbed Adelaide’s “biggest and most iconic gender reveal party”, the event was organised by her co-host Bernie Vince and also featured the Port Adelaide cheer squad, cheerleaders and six other expectant mothers. The gender of their babies were also revealed.
Radio host Georgiadis, who’s due next month, said she and fiance Edward Kleut are “so excited and happy” to be welcoming a baby boy.
“We can’t wait to meet our little guy. Bern and my SAFM family put on such an incredible gender reveal with pyrotechnics, cheerleaders and Port’s Mitch Georgiades doing the big reveal,” she said.
“It was so special and memorable to do it at the iconic Adelaide Oval and share the moment with a bunch of our expectant listeners.
“I can’t wait to tell our little man all about it when he’s older.”
Vince said he can’t wait to teach the new arrival a “bit of footy”.
“I’m stoked for my mate Emma G and Eddie. A future Port star,” he said.
Georgiadis will co-host her last show on July 4 before going on maternity leave until October.
Belinda Sloane, experienced TV presenter and wife of retired Crows champion Rory, will step into the SAFM studio in her absence.
Sloane, a mother-of-three, will join Rory’s old teammate Vince on the station’s early morning program from July 21.
