Port Adelaide ruckman Ivan Soldo’s partner Chelsea Becirevic reveals why she quit her dream career as a flight attendant

The glamorous partner of Port Adelaide ruckman Ivan Soldo has turned her back on her new career – and says his recent trade request has “nothing” to do with her.

AFL's most glamorous WAG on life in Dubai

Chelsea Becirevic, the glamorous partner of Port Adelaide ruckman Ivan Soldo, has turned her back on her dream career as a flight attendant to be with her footy beau.

The model and marketer also says Soldo’s recent trade request to a Melbourne club has “nothing to do with me”.

Ms Becirevic moved to Dubai about three months ago to start training as an “hostie” with Emirates Airlines while Soldo remained in Adelaide with the Power.

But Ms Becirevic has revealed that she’s given up the globetrotting role to return to Adelaide – for the time being.

“I honestly just hated long distance – it was so-so hard, and missed Australia so much,” she shared with her 66,000 followers on Instagram.

“Like it’s a great way to meet so many different people and have a bit of fun. If you wanna travel it’s a great way to do that. But it’s definitely glamorised a lot online.

“For me personally, I was super homesick and found the job super isolating.”

The news comes just days after Soldo asked for a trade away from Alberton to Melbourne club, St Kilda.

But Ms Becirevic – who earlier this year admitted that living in Adelaide had been a “struggle” – said she played no part in Soldo’s impending move back to Victoria.

“I’m honestly fed up with this ridiculous narrative that keeps circulating,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I’ve stayed silent for far too long, but it’s time to set the record straight … somehow I’ve become the centre of attention for a trade that has nothing to do with me.”

Confirming the pair were still loved-up, Ms Becirevic said that she moved back to Adelaide to support her boyfriend but she found herself “dragged through the media”.

“It’s disappointing to see the same old story where the girl gets blamed for everything,” she said.

Originally from the Gold Coast, Ms Becirevic said she wasn’t sure where they would move to, but they’d be spending time on the Gold Coast during the footy off-season.

“Not sure yet where I’m gonna be … just going with the flow at the moment,” she said.

Last month she told The Advertiser that she set to officially start her role with Emirates at the end of August, with some of her initial destinations including India, Russia, Bali and Morocco.

“It’s an incredible list and I can’t wait to explore these places,” said Ms Becirevic, who had been planning to study biomedical science at university.

Ms Becirevic first met ex-Richmond big man Soldo about two years ago, and moved to Adelaide with him late last year.

In May, she said Emirates’ hiring process was “pretty intense” but the role was something she’s always dreamt of doing.

“Always wanted to work for Emirates, live in Dubai and travel the world,” wrote Ms Becirevic, who was previously employed in marketing for a fashion and bridal company.
