Pantsless ‘hero’ delivery driver saves Rebecca Morse’s beloved rescue dog ‘Wolfie’

The SAFM breakfast host has expressed her “deep gratitude” for a passing delivery driver’s incredible act of bravery – which landed him without his pants.

Like a scene from the Never Ending Story, SAFM breakfast star Rebecca Morse has revealed her beloved rescue dog ‘Wolfie’ was saved from drowning by a hero delivery driver after escaping from her beachside home.

Morse adopted Wolf from the Animal Welfare League in January, after the devastating loss of their dalmatian Henley in a shock car accident.

On Friday, she received a call from a postman, Sahib, who had been delivering a parcel to her Henley Beach home.

A panicked Sahib said saw Wolf running down the street towards the beach and was about to jump in his van to pursue the escapee when another delivery driver, Henri Jenssen, stopped to help.

Mr Jenssen, who owns Adelaide Hills fruit and veg business Girl Friday Organics, said he found Sahib in “all sorts of distress”.

“He (Sahib) was stressing, I couldn’t just leave him like that,” he told Bec and Soda on Tuesday morning.

The pair followed Wolfie to the Torrens Outlet, where it became clear he was battling to swim.

“He started swimming in circles, getting a little bit confused you know … after a while he was struggling to keep his head above water,” Mr Jenssen said.

“The instincts kicked in, and off came the pants and I went in.”

Those pants ended up coming in handy – with Mr Jenssen using them to restrain Wolfie until help arrived.

“He didn’t really take to being walked around by his collar so yeah, had the pants there and improvised a solution,” he said.

The “funny-looking” Samoyed came to the Animal Welfare League in a neglected condition – with rescuers forced to shave his white coat before he found his fur-ever home in the Morse household.

Morse, who expressed her deep gratitude for the drivers’ heroic efforts, said he was a “beautiful boy” and couldn’t imagine life without the family’s four-legged friend.

“The thought of losing him again, and having to tell my kids … I can’t thank you enough, because a lot of people wouldn’t have done that, or had the confidence to do it,” she told Mr Jenssen.
