American singer and model Pia Mia has arrived in Australia to perform a series of gigs both on the east and west coast of the country this weekend.
The 27-year-old touched down at Perth Airport on Thursday looking every inch the pop star in her oversized black designer sunglasses, black fitted tee and low-slung jeans.
“omw to you Perth,” she excitedly shared with her 9.9 million Instagram followers before her arrival.
Pia – real name Pia Mia Perez – spoke on her phone as she made her way through the terminal, hauling her own luggage as she walked among fellow travellers.
Her arrival comes on the eve of her first Aussie performance for her trip, which will see her perform at Bar1 nightclub at Hillarys Boat Harbour a short drive from Perth’s CBD.
Following her Perth gig, the singer will make her way to the east coast for the Jammin Fesitival 2024 – Australia’s biggest reggae music fest made up of more than 20 local and international acts.
She will headline the music festival alongside the likes of reggae greats Sean Paul, UB40 and Shaggy, playing for the crowd on Day 1 of the Brisbane leg at the Riverstage outdoor entertainment venue on February 3.
Pia will then head south of the border to perform in Sydney on February 4 at Parramatta Park.
“Can’t wait to perform for you in Brisbane and Sydney this weekend,” she wrote on Instagram.
Pia, who was born in Guam, kicked off her music career in 2011 with her single Bubblegum Boy featuring Disney star Bella Thorne, before making waves with her cover of Drake’s single Hold On We’re Going Home in 2013.
She was quickly signed to Interscope Records that same year and by 2015 she was collaborating with Chris Brown and Tyga on her hit single Do It Again.
She is now a multi-platinum recording artist thanks to follow-up hits Touch and Bitter Love.
In 2016, she featured on Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am’s single Boys & Girls, which topped the charts in the UK.
The singer also ventured into reality TV after befriending the Kylie Jenner and her famous Kardashian family.
She featured in a few episodes of the family’s show Keeping Up With the Kardashians as well, in which Jenner would request Pia sing her to sleep.
