MKR judge Colin Fassnidge on the mend after stomach surgery
Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge is recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery. And while he admits to being ‘f***ing sore’, he’s not too sore to ask his friends to bring him whiskey.

Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge is recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery.
Speaking from his hospital bed, the My Kitchen Rules judge said: “They were looking for a heart, they couldn’t find one. I’ve had a stomach operation.”
Friends questioned Fassnidge as to whether or not he had an accident after the father of two shared an image on Instagram.
Some asked if he had a motorbike accident, to which he responded that he had a “small operation”.
He also asked for friends to bring Slane Whiskey.
“I am f***ing sore, that’s for sure,” Fassnidge told Confidential ahead of his expected release from Prince of Wales Private Hospital on Friday.
Among those wishing Fassnidge well on social media was fellow chef Jason Roberts, TV host Sally Obermeder and sports reporter Mark Beretta.
“All the best young fella!” Beretta wrote. “You’re looking great … ish … couple of whiskys and you’ll be better than ever!”
Fassnidge meanwhile recently spoke of his week-long caravan road trip up the NSW north coast with partner Jane and daughters Maeve, nine, and Lily, 10.
“I think people get a bit complacent and don’t realise what’s on our doorstep,” he says.
“You don’t even have to have a caravan. You could just drive. I actually like little motels that are a bit rustic and you can meet the characters at the local pub.”
Of travel in a time of COVID-19, he added: “The world is going to be like this for a very long time — with hand sanitiser and spacing. I think (regional areas) are abiding by the rules much better than (cities) — there’s plenty of social distancing space.”
