Leah Cummings’ shock Bachelor confession

After proposing on The Bachelors, Thomas Malucelli ended his engagement to Adelaide bachelorette Leah Cummings. She has finally revealed the shocking reason why.

The Bachelors contestant Leah Cummings has finally revealed the real reason behind her sudden split with reality show fiance Thomas Malucelli – just two months after their televised proposal.

Since announcing their separation in January, the Adelaide beauty has always simply cited “incompatibility”.

However, for the first time she has bravely admitted the story behind the break-up to The Advertiser.

“Now that my rose-coloured glasses are off … when we went one our first date (after the show) he told me he wasn’t vaccinated,” the 33-year-old said.

“He asked me not to get the fourth vaccination and I’m upset because I considered it because I was in love with him.

“I was willing to risk my health to be with him,” she said.

After the conclusion of the season 10 show (called the The Bachelors because it featured three bachelors) in July 2022, Cummings discovered Malucelli “doesn’t believe in modern medicine”.

Thomas Malucelli is a restaurant manager who is currently dating another woman.

Diagnosed with asthma, Cummings found herself needing to use her ventolin in “private” when she was with Malucelli, which she now said was “disgusting”.

“He said, I think you have asthma because you believe you have asthma,” she said. Cummings said Malucelli said the same thing about her anxiety disorder and encouraged her to ditch her medications.

“My mum’s sister died of asthma,” she said.

On the pair’s first date on the Channel 10 dating show, Cummings said they had to turn around after she forgot to bring her ventolin.

“I just wish to God he told me there and then that he had those views because I would’ve gone straight home,” she said.

“I wouldn’t have gone through any of that stuff.”

Cummings recalled a time she was having an attack and was not able to ask Thomas for help.

“I remember being on the phone to my sister, who was in Bali, and she said go get Thomas, go get Thomas, and I was like I can’t,” she said.

“I didn’t have the guts to tell her.”

After two months Malucelli eventually ended their engagement.

“He was the one who broke up with me which is also disappointing … I can’t believe I allowed that to happen,” she said.

Cummings said while they were together, Malucelli was injured in a motorcycle accident and took medication.

“I said I thought you didn’t believe in modern medicine and he said … these drugs are real,” she said.

On another occasion, Cummings claimed her then fiancee took a trip to America with his ex-girlfriend and did not tell her about it until afterwards.

“He gaslit me, he said this is why I didn’t tell you I was going away,” she said.

“They fact (he) didn’t tell me was the reason I was worried.”

Despite the break-up, Cummings is on her way to discovering herself. She is now working as a personal assistant to Adelaide orthopaedic surgeon Dr Justin Munt, as well as a makeup artist.

“I’m definitely happy where I am now,” she said.

“I realised I had to break down for me to break open. I am so strong now because of it and I do believe everything happens for a reason and I am so proud of myself.”

Malucelli, who is a restaurant manager, has since got into a new relationship. Cummings said she is “happy for him”.

“I want to be connecting with someone but also my last connection with someone caused me pain,” she said.

“I’m still trying really hard to develop myself (to) be vulnerable on my own again.”

The Advertiser asked Malucelli about Cummings’ claims and he said it was “disappointing”.

“It’s so disappointing that a relationship founded on The Bachelor, which was such an enjoyable experience and growth period, would now be dragged through the mud,” he said.

“I have the utmost respect for the contestants from the show and the collective journey we have been on. I have only love for the Bachelorettes.”

Warner Brothers, the production company behind The Bachelors, declined to comment.
