Kristin Fisher has lamented the tough times of lockdown after being convicted of cocaine possession.
The Double Bay eyebrow queen has vowed to fight the charges and says she is looking forward to getting back to work at Kristin Fisher Eyebrows after months of restrictions.
“Imagine owning a business, that you’ve worked so hard at for 10+ years, and all of a sudden your entire revenue is cut in half,” Fisher wrote in one of several Instagram story posts, speaking for the first time since the conviction last week.
“You and your employees are now on the dole. We all have rents and mortgages to pay. I have children to feed also. This has been hands down the most challenging time of my life. I’m not even complaining. Because I’m alive, my family are healthy and we have the end in sight now.”
The mother of two failed to show up to Waverley Court on Tuesday after being charged with possessing a prohibited drug three months ago, with her lawyer said she did not know about the court fixture and subsequently lodged documents to annul the conviction.
Fisher was allegedly caught inside a Bondi drug dealer’s car on Curlewis St buying cocaine on Saturday, July 17.
Court documents state Fisher — seated in the backseat — had two bags of cocaine at her feet when police pulled over the white Kia Rio.
Fisher was also fined by police for breaching Covid restrictions.
Magistrate Ross Hudson had recorded a conviction on her record and fined her $550 for the cocaine possession.
“I haven’t worked since the 22nd of June. Although that may sound enticing for some! Just imagine the backlog of debt we are walking into … it will take years to come back from this,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I know we can do it! But all of my dreams of being at ‘X’ point in my life and career are now a few years behind thanks to COVID. Again – I’m not complaining. It is what it is. Things could be much worse. But to those who have been fortunate enough to have been able to WFH and have an income this entire time, now is the time to support the businesses who haven’t had the same luxury.”
Fisher added that she had not been able to work from home and urged Australians to get vaccinated as “the self care industry DEPENDS ON IT”.
“I look forward to spending my income (!!!) DINING IN at restaurants and cafes,” she wrote. “I look forward to going to friends homes for dinner parties! And I look forward to one day being able to cross the borders into WA and QLD and see my family and my bestie. The end is in sight! 2022 – please bring the goods.”
Fisher’s lawyer Michael Bowe last week told The Daily Telegraph all would be revealed in court.
“She would have been there if she had known. We are lodging an application now at the Downing Centre to annul the conviction,” Mr Bowe said on Wednesday.
Fisher’s business is known for its eyebrow tattooing with celebrity clients including Jesinta Franklin, Roxy Jacenko, Pia Loyola, Kate Waterhouse and Nadia Fairfax.
In August, Fisher suggested she could serve clients in the park by taking advantage of a loophole in the Covid health orders to offer services outdoors.
At the time, she announced on social media that she would service clients that lived within a 5km radius of Double Bay’s Guilfoyle Park
The announcement came after NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian stated Sydneysiders could meet with four vaccinated friends for ‘outdoor recreation’ from September 13.
