Australia's cocaine crisis

Glam beauty boss Kristin Fisher has started her legal fight to appeal a criminal conviction that was recorded after she failed to attend court for allegedly possessing cocaine.

The Double Bay mother-of-two failed to show up to Waverley Court on Tuesday after being charged with possessing a prohibited drug three months ago, with her lawyer saying she did not know about the court fixture.

Posts on her Instagram account gave an insight into what she was doing on the day including giving her child a haircut and sharing an influencer’s fashion photo that she liked while commenting: “Chick asf (as f**k)”.

She also posted that she had eaten a delicious dinner she “demolished”.

Magistrate Ross Hudson recorded a conviction on her record and fined her $550.

Fisher’s business is known for its eyebrow tattooing, Kristin Fisher Eyebrows, is a hit with celebrity clients such as model Jesinta Campbell, PR guru Roxy Jacenko, Luxe Listings reality TV show’s Shani Asadon and TikTok star Cartia Mallan.

It costs a massive $1450 for a tattooing session at her clinic, which is closed currently due to the Delta outbreak.

Fisher’s lawyer Michael Bowe told The Daily Telegraph all would be revealed in court.

“She would have been there if she had known. We are lodging an application now at the Downing Centre to annul the conviction,” Mr Bowe said at midday on Wednesday.

After the application is lodged at the Local Court registry, a date is likely to be set in the coming weeks before the same magistrate.

This will be a chance for Fisher to explain why she did not appear and to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty.

Fisher was allegedly caught inside a Bondi drug dealer’s car on Curlewis St buying cocaine on Saturday, July 17.

Court documents state Fisher — seated in the backset — had two bags of cocaine at her feet when police pulled over the white Ria Kio.

Fisher was also fined by police for breaching Covid restrictions.

She has not responded to questions from The Daily Telegraph.
