Disneyland is most definitely The Happiest Place Earth for leading Adelaide designer Cristina Tridente and her now fiance Petar Filipovic.
The couture+love+madness founder, 33, and SA Pathology laboratory supervisor, 35, are holidaying in Japan.
They were visiting the Tokyo Disneyland theme park on Tuesday when Mr Filipovic popped the question.
“Pete proposed in front of the castle,” Ms Tridente told The Advertiser in an exclusive interview from Japan.
“He knew how excited I was to come here and it was very special.”
Mr Filipovic presented Ms Tridente with a stunning engagement ring created by Adelaide’s Laura Lediaev from Ezara Fine Jewellery.
“The ring could not be more beautiful,” Ms Tridente said. “It’s brushed yellow gold with a 2.1 carat shield-cut diamond and asymmetrical band,
“I knew I wanted something unique and Laura found the most beautiful stone for the ring and then she and Pete worked together on its design to surprise me.”
Ms Tridente has made hundreds of wedding gowns for clients and custom designs for celebrities, including Sam Smith, Dannii Minogue, Julia Morris, the Governor of South Australia, Frances Adamson and the Christmas Pageant’s royal family.
While she won’t unveil plans for her own bridal look, Ms Tridente said she and her husband-to-be were looking forward to tying the knot in 2024.
