Adelaide-born MAFS bride Eden Harper could very well achieve the impossible this season — with internet slueths deducing she stays with her groom after filming.
Ms Harper, 28, is paired with Jayden Eynaud, 26, the brother of former MAFS participant Mitch Eynaud.
According to gossip site So Dramatic!, the couple who “tied the knot” in Wednesday’s episode were likely still together in October last year, months after filming wrapped, with a telling Instagram post from Jayden’s brother Mitch spilling the beans.
In the photo, Mitch is seen cuddling up to Ms Harper’s beloved golden retriever, Cub, revealing Ms Harper was still in contact with the family at the time.
The MAFS alum edited the caption two days ago to throw off the scent, but — via So Dramatic! — it previously read, “Chilling with my good pal, Cub.”
With SA’s sole MAFS groom Simon Flocco fleeing the experiment on day one, Ms Harper is the only local contestant left, and she’s set to become the biggest star of the season.
The former St Mary’s student-turned-spicy MAFS bride has close SA as the daughter of Adelaide Crows Football Club off-field stalwart Phil Harper.
Fans of the Channel 9 reality show watched the 28-year-old beauty, now based in Queensland, “marry” kickboxer Jayden Eynaud in Wednesday night’s episode.
Eynaud is the brother of former contestant Mitch Eynaud, and while his brother’s pairing with influencer Ella May Ding ended in a flop, there is hope for Jayden.
Here’s what we know about the SA-born reality star and her MAFS journey:
Who is Eden Harper?
Ms Harper is a 28-year-old recruitment manager and dog mum based on the Gold Coast, where Mr Eynaud also resides.
She is the daughter of Phil Harper, a sports administration professional who has worked at the Adelaide Crows Football Club for 23 years. He is currently the head of women’s football at the club, and is set to appear in MAFS in a later episode.
Harper was banned from the AFL for two months in 2013 for breaking salary cap and draft rules regarding Kurt Tippett’s 2009 re-signing with the Crows.
According to Ms Harper’s Facebook profile, she formerly worked for Healthcare Australia SA.
A friend of the reality star revealed she attended St Mary’s College in the CBD, grew up in Fulham and lived in Camden Park before relocating to the Gold Coast.
The reality star has also dabbled in videography, having filmed a friends’ wedding in 2019 and a Moana Bikini campaign in 2018.
Ms Harper is described in her MAFS bio as “fiercely independent, a self-confessed daddy’s girl and a perfectionist at heart. She is putting her trust in the experts to match her with someone ambitious, generous and loyal.”
During Wednesday’s episode, she revealed she has been cheated on in the past, and any man in her life will be competing with her four-year-old golden retriever, Cub.
How did Eden Harper end up on MAFS?
According to gossip website So Dramatic!, Ms Harper was scouted for the 2024 instalment of the show via her Instagram account, only agreeing to partake after weeks of convincing.
The publication cited Survivor star and AFLW player Abbey Holmes as her close friend, listing other reality TV connections including Love Island’sTrent Wooldman, Big Brother’sEllie Gonsalves, Below Deck’s Ashling Lorger and MAFS brides Alyssa Barmonde, Tahnee Cook and Samantha Moitzi.
Reports Ms Harper will ‘bring the spice’ this year
So Dramatic! quoted sources close to the blonde beauty who claim she will be a dramatic addition to the cast.
“[She’s] one to watch,” one insider said, adding that she will “bring the spice and drama to the experiment”.
While they didn’t divulge how, they hinted she will “take audiences on journey that will test friendships and her own relationship”.
Inside Eden and Jayden’s wedding
Mr Eynaud seemed smitten with Ms Harper ahead of the wedding, telling his brother: “She doesn’t party, she doesn’t drink, she loves walks, she’s got a golden retriever. She’s literally a female version of me, ticks every box and she’s stunning”.
However, he was sceptical the feelings were reciprocal.
“Probably the only bad thing is when you meet a girl, you can tell straightaway if they like you or not. I got the vibe she doesn’t really like me.”
After a heart-to-heart with his TV bride, his fears were quelled.
Speaking to producers, Ms Harper said: “I think it was funny when Jayden said he wasn’t sure if I was into him and I was like ‘no I definitely am’. I’m often told that I have a bit of a hard exterior and I’m very composed so its quite hard to read me.”
Are they still together?
According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Tori Adams and Jack Dunkley are the only couple with evidence of lasting the experiment.
However, sneaky MAFS gossip account @MAFSuncensored did call them “one of the few couples” who make it through, hinting others manage to forge on in the real world.
This means Ms Harper and Mr Eynaud could very well make the distance.
