RuPaul’s Drag Race star Brooke Lynn Hytes has shared his years-long facial transformation on social media.
The Canadian reality star, who shot to fame on the 2019 season of the smash hit franchise and is now a judge on Canada’s spin-off series, posted side-by-side photos taken eight years apart on X.
“Almond mom [sic] eight years apart,” the 38-year-old drag queen wrote, referencing his much slimmer face.
Elaborating in a follow-up tweet, Hytes said he’d only had Botox (anti-wrinkle) injections to upkeep his youthful looks over the last two years.
Hytes didn’t explain what cosmetic surgeries, if any, he’d underwent prior to that.
“Take away: My skin is amazing. Bone structure is immaculate,” Hytes wrote.
“I miss my real eyebrows but I refuse to try and glue those suckers down every time. I also haven’t had anything but Botox put in my face in over 2 years. I think I’m beautiful.
“I also really, truly do not look that different,” he wrote.
Hytes placed second behind Yvie Oddly in the eleventh season of the long-running show, before going on to land a main judge gig on Canada’s Drag Race in 2020, becoming the first contestant to transition to the other side of the table in drag herstory (fans will know).
During her time as a contestant, Hytes embarked in an on-show romance with fan favourite drag queen Vanessa ‘Miss Vanjie’ Mateo, their union being coined by fans as ‘Branjie’.
However, by the time the show’s reunion episode filmed, the pair were no longer an item.
“We dated for about four months after the show, and we tried to make it work, but our schedules were just very different,” Hytes told RuPaul.
“He was travelling all the time, I wasn’t travelling at all, so we never really saw each other, and it was scary for me.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race first debuted in 2009, producing a whopping 16 seasons and a string of spin-off series’ in the years since.
In 2018, it became the first show to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Host (for RuPaul Charles) in the same year, a feat it has since managed to achieve a further three times.
