Luke Jacobz has scored his second Dancing With The Stars mirror ball trophy, winning the all-star celebrity season of the reality show.
The Home and Away actor and professional dance partner Jorja Freeman were victorious over former soap star Bec Hewitt in the grand final.
Earlier in the episode Kyly Clarke, Lincoln Lewis, Ada Nicodemou and Manu Feildel were eliminated.
“To win is honestly the greatest achievement of my life,” Jacobz told The Daily Telegraph.
“To have put the hours in that we did … to literally dedicate my heart and soul to it makes it
so rewarding. I have never wanted something so much in my life.”
Jacobz, who plays Detective Angelo Rosetta on Seven’s Home and Away, dedicated his win and the $20,000 prize money to the Charlie Teo Foundation.
The now 40-year-old, whose real name is Luke Jacob Ashwood, first won Dancing With The Stars in 2008 when partnered with Luda Kroiter, who was his girlfriend at the time.
This year saw celebrity contestants from previous seasons return to the dance floor for another crack at a title win.
Others to return include Tom Williams, Fifi Box and Jamie Durie, with wildcard entries Schapelle Corby, Renee Bargh, Matty J, Jessica Gomes and Erin McNaught.
“Thank you for asking me to come back, when I did this show in 2008, I was always like if they do another one and ask people back, I want to have a go at it, because I really enjoyed it last time,” he said after being announced winner.
“I’m so grateful to be partnered with Jorja, she works so incredibly hard, her passion and love for dancing is so inspiring.
The judges’ words for us, was always so encouraging. Dancing is so addictive, and I love it so much I don’t want to stop. I can’t thank the cast and crew enough, so thank you so much.”
Jacobz has been a regular on our television screens for more than two decades, getting his start on Heartbreak High in 1998.
He has also been seen in lead roles in McLeod’s Daughters and Home and Away, to which he returned last year after a nine year break from the show.
As well as acting, he has hosted various shows including The X Factor, Hole In The Wall, The Proposal and Popstars Live.
In 2015, Jacobz pleaded guilty to drink driving when he returned a reading of 0.116. He lost his licence for 12 months and was fined $700.
Jacobz is hoping his Dancing win will open doors as a live performer.
“I really hope that winning can open doors for me to perform on a live stage,” he said. “To tour with the other dancers or to be part of a production would be a dream come true. Next is unwritten … but I am hungry for more so, if the opportunity arises, I will be there to
take it but I am a duo so Jorja is coming with me.”
