HUNDREDS of Port and Crows fans have flocked to Adelaide Oval for a different kind of Showdown.

New Aussie film Never Too Late, starring Academy Award nominees Jacki Weaver and James Cromwell, is currently shooting in Adelaide, and producers needed footy fans in their full regalia to be extras in a scene at the hallowed ground.

Supporters of both teams rocked up to the southern side of the Oval from 7.30am for the build-up to the mock “Showdown”. On set for the shoot were actors Shane Jacobson, best known as Kenny, and Roy Billing from The Dish, along with director Mark Lamprell, pictured right. Animal Kingdom star Jacki and James, as well as the film’s other stars actors, the legendary Jack Thompson and Dennis Waterman, were not at the ground for the scene.

Never Too Late is a comedy about ageing Vietnam veterans breaking out of a tyrannical nursing home.
