TV chefs back on SA foodie scene

They might be cooking idols, but Adelaide’s MasterChef contestants are never idle. Here’s what they’re up to now filming’s over.

They’ve spent months slaving away in the MasterChef kitchen for a second chance at reality TV glory but now SA’s final contestants – Poh Ling Yeow, Callum Hann and Laura Sharrad – are back home watching the final recorded episodes play out on Channel 10 with the rest of us.

Poh is giving fans a sample of her style on Sundays at Wayville’s Adelaide Farmers’ Market at her JamFace stall. Her amazing food is available by the eastern entrance to the market from 8am today.

And Laura is back at her work at King William Rd pasta bar Nido. “It’s so nice to be back at Nido – it really feels like being back home,” she says. “I missed working so much while filming that I was just busting to get back into it.”

The rest of 2020 is also looking even busier for Laura, who says she’s “getting back into the full swing of things back at work. Hopefully I’ll write a cookbook, keep in the film side of things and create some cool content … (and) a few other things, but can’t reveal those just yet”.

Callum is back helping others become master chefs at his Sprout kitchen.

“You never really ‘leave’ work when you have your own business,” he says. “I was still speaking with our team, clients and trying to assist as much as I could from Melbourne. It’s exciting to be back! As much as I loved being part of MasterChef, to get back with my team at Sprout makes me very happy.”
