Staring down on Angas St from a window in the Arts Theatre, Cate Blanchett looked ominous in character during a scene from her new TV miniseries Stateless.
Dual Oscar winner Blanchett plays a leader of a self-improvement cult in the ABC and Screen Australia production, which continued filming in the city on Friday.
Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale) was also spotted on set, dashing across the street in her role as a German flight attendant.
Emmy-nominated Strahovski’s fictional character is understood to be inspired by wrongfully detained South Australian woman Cornelia Rau.
Blanchett, who is also co-producing the series, arrived in Adelaide late last week to start the film, which is backed by the SA Film Corporation and was more than four years in development.
Production is based at Adelaide Studios at Glenside.
It also stars Asher Keddie, Jai Courtney and Dominic West.
