Premiership duo miss trip to Melbourne awards

Premiership celebrations got the better of Crows stars Chelsea Randall and Marijana Rajcic who slept through their alarm and missed an early morning flight to Melbourne for today’s AFLW awards.

Premiership celebrations got the better of Crows stars Chelsea Randall and Marijana Rajcic who slept through their alarm and missed an early morning flight to Melbourne for today’s AFLW awards.

Instead, the duo — along with Irish popster Brian McFadden and Mix 102.3’s Mark ‘Soda’ Soderstrom — headed back to Adelaide Oval to relive some highlights from their grand final triumph.

“My alarm didn’t go off, that’s all,” Randall told Soda on Mix’s brekkie radio show this morning.

“I was supposed to be going to Melbourne this morning but I wanted to hang out with you guys, and we knew Brian was in town.”

Rajcic said the team had an “unreal night” celebrating the win.

“It was unbelievable, it was so good we just partied up together, we had all our family and friends together, it was unreal,” she said.

So with their premiership medallions still around their neck and wearing T-shirts and footy shorts, the pair showed Brian and Soda around the ground and re-enacted some of the best moments from the victory, including Chloe Sheer’s high-flying mark.

A guest co-host on this morning’s Mix brekkie radio show ahead of his Adelaide performance with Boyzone tomorrow night, Brian is no stranger to Aussie rules football, having dated Aussie singer Delta Goodrem, whose brother Trent plays for SANFL side Central Districts.

Randall ended up securing the AFLW Most Courageous award for the third consecutive year, with her teammate Courtney Cramey accepting the award in Melbourne on her behalf.
