DEPARTMENT store Myer has issued a mandate to all of its models and ambassadors ahead of this week’s hotly anticipated runway parade, to ensure they are all at a healthy weight when they take to the runway.
One ambassador in question is understood to be waif-thin model Jodi Anasta, who has been spotted looking worryingly slender of late.
The Myer ambassador, who announced a “temporary separation” from NRL footballer Braith Anasta in December, will be one of the many A-listers who will walk the red carpet at Thursday’s Autumn/Winter runway parade, but insiders say Myer is concerned about her tiny frame.
“It’s common knowledge that people are concerned about Jodi’s current weight,” a source said.
“Her management is aware and has had a word with her.
“She is going through a tough time with her divorce ... some people eat when they are under stress, some people don’t.”
While Anasta has always been thin, the former Home and Away actress seems to have recently lost even more weight off her lithe frame, and designers are said to be concerned about how the 31-year-old will look in their wares on Thursday.
There were similar concerns last year for model Kate Peck, whose slender frame is said to have had Myer executives worried.
Anasta has spoken of her weight issues before, and claims it is simply her body shape.
“It’s disappointing when you eat healthily and exercise but then get criticised for it,’’ she said in a previous interview.
“I see girls in the industry who are much thinner than me but a photographer will get a shot of me at a strange angle and I’ll be called too thin.
“It’s awful because my family and all my friends, who see me stuffing my face, they read these things and it upsets them as well.”
