MAFS 2019 Episode 37 Recap: The Final Vows

Last night Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant got “real life” engaged, but they chose not to turn their special moment into a giant endorsement deal like so many others.

Married At First Sight’s most successful couple were inundated with offers for engagement party freebies but declined, with Robinson saying they actually spent plenty of cash making it perfect.

“It cost us a lot of money,” she said.

“There were a lot of people who wanted to be involved, a lot of people reached out.

“But it was our day and we had full control over how we put it together.”

Robinson said the party, which had about 200 guests and was held at Acre Eatery in Camperdown, wrapped up at 11pm meaning nobody got too drunk but she was feeling a touch hungover this morning.

The 36-year-old said the only freebie she got was her custom glittering gold Velani dress by Five Dock designer Nicky Velani.

The engagement comes after the pair were set-up on MAFS this year and were undoubtedly the best matched, with Merchant proposing in their final episode.

They have confirmed they will be getting married this year and try for children soon after.

Other MAFS cast including Cyrell Paule, Elizabeth Sobinoff, Mick Gould, Billy Vincent, Bronson Norrish and future bridesmaids Heidi Slatcham and Melissa Lucarelli attended.

But the reality television alumni didn’t stop there, with The Block winners Sara Tumino and Hayden Vale attending as well as Love Island runner up Eden Dalley, who is now dating “Cyclone Cyrell”.

None of the controversial characters from the show including Jessika Power, Dan Webb, Martha Kalifatidis, Ines Basic and Sam Ball attended.

Mike Gunner and Dino Hira, the “ex-husbands” of bridesmaids Slatcham and Lucarelli, were also not on the invite list.
