Adelaide’s prince of cabaret Hans will light up TV screens across Australia on Saturday with a live guest performance on SBS’s Eurovision: Australia Decides.
The America’s Got Talent finalist and alter ego of Advertiser and Sunday Mail gossip writer Matt Gilbertson, has been specially invited to appear.
“Honey, I have to keep exactly what I am doing in the vault, but let me just say, as a huge Eurovision fan, I’m hoping it’s something that will please all the Euro-tragics out there,” said Hans, who’s also performing at The Advertiser Foundation Ladies Day Luncheon on February 28. “I will say, however, unlike Adam Levine at the Super Bowl, I will absolutely be keeping my shirt on.”
Saturday night will see 10 Australian acts competing to represent the country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Tel Aviv.
For the first time, SBS is holding a national selection show, to be broadcast live from the Gold Coast, with artists like award-winning singer Kate Miller-Heidke, Queensland band Sheppard and SA duo Electric Fields vying for the public’s vote on the night.
“I do know a couple of the performers who are competing this weekend, so it would be rude to put one on a pedestal … which is exactly why I am doing just that and calling Adelaide duo Electric Fields my favourite to win,” Hans said.
