IT might be freezing outside, but if you’re a fan of live music the next few weeks should warm your heart.
South Australians are being asked to fight the urge to hibernate and get along to some of the amazing events planned for winter, including the Umbrella: Winter Sounds opening street party on Bank St on July 13.
The free party will feature music, great food and drink and even a barber offering free haircuts.
Adelaide musician Hana Brenecki said Umbrella: Winter Sounds was a great way to make sure the city didn’t snooze through the colder months.
“Getting people out in winter can be hard,” Brenecki said, “so I think this is an awesome idea. It’s going to have a great vibe.”
Umbrella: Winter Sounds, from July 13 to 29, features an incredibly diverse range of music. Music SA’s Scouted event, staged across four West End venues on July 27, will give unsigned bands a chance to shine in front of industry heavyweights in town for the AIR Independent Music Awards. Other events heating up July include Guitars in Bars (July 13-29), the warm-up event for August’s Guitar Festival, and Winter Fest (July 6-22) at Port Adelaide.
