Former political heavyweight Nick Xenophon has become a father for the second time – at the age of 60.

The ex-senator and former SA Best party leader welcomed a baby girl, Eve,with his live-in partner, who is about 25 years his junior, last month.

Notoriously secretive about his private life, Xenophon declined to comment but it’s understood baby Eve and her mother are both doing well.

Xenophon’s partner works in a white-collar role for a major supermarket chain and appears to have no political connections.

It’s understood they first became a couple some years ago, then went their separate ways before reuniting over 18 months ago.

Despite openly courting publicity during his political career, Xenophon has been extremely private about his personal relationships, in particular with his former wife and now-adult son – thus far his only child.

Xenophon’s former partner Jenny Low claimed a “secret” seven-year relationship when she launched her election candidacy for Advance SA in November 2017.

The charismatic lawyer, who now runs his eponymous legal practice in Paradise, walked away from the political party he founded late last year after a disappointing result at the State Election.
