One of SA radio’s worst-kept secrets has been confirmed with former Crow Bernie Vince heading home for a new gig with Triple M Adelaide.

It’sgoing to be a hectic 2020 for Crows favourite Bernie Vince.

The retired footy star will juggle an expanded role on Adelaide radio station Triple M with full-time work as a director of a Melbourne real estate agency.

“I’m going to be a very busy man, but I love being busy,” said Vince, who’s been confirmed as Andrew “Jars” Jarman’s co-host on new-look drivetime show The Rush Hour next year.

“What’s great is I can do a full day’s work and then the show is in the late arvo ... so I’m pretty excited about it.”

Melbourne-based Vince – who became a father for the first time in February when wife Abbie gave birth to baby son Harvey said he has no immediate plans to move home.

But the former Crow said he’ll be spending plenty of time in SA as co-host of the weekday show, which will move to a new 5.30pm timeslot, and as part of Triple M’s AFL commentary team at Adelaide Oval.

“My schedule’s all over the place, I’ll have to put everything into my diary to make sure I don’t miss anything,” laughed Vince, who’s from Stansbury on the state’s Yorke Peninsula.

“I’ve always loved the media side of footy when I was playing, I’ve always had fun with it and just been myself, and I’m still doing that now.

“I’m very grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had in the media.”

Jarman, who previously hosted The Rush Hour with former Sydney Swan Dale Lewis, said he’s excited to be sharing the airwaves with the Crows’ 2009 Club Champion.

“Our boy returns home. We only require three things of him. He must be handsome, have straight teeth and never been caught for stealing,” he joked about Vince, who retired at the end of the 2018 season.

While they’re both former Crows, Vince admitted he and Jarman spend a lot of time arguing on-air.

“We often have very different points of view... I don’t think Jars even knows where he’s coming from sometimes,” he said.

“Get ready to expect plenty of laughs and big opinions.”

Melbourne’s The Rush Hour program, hosted for over a decade by James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless, has also been moved to a later 6pm-7pm timeslot in 2020.

The new Rush Hour will begin on January 20.
