Cameron Daddo reveals he cheated on wife Alison Brahe

TV and radio host Cameron Daddo has made the shock revelation that he cheated on his wife of nearly 30 years, former TV host Alison Brahe, setting off an “atomic bomb” that blew apart her opinion of him.

TV and radio host Cameron Daddo has revealed he cheated on his wife of nearly 30 years, citing alcohol and distance for the reason.

Daddo made the revelation about his relationship with former TV host Alison Brahe in a sit down interview with new dad’s website, the-father-hood.com.

The couple, who were married in 1991, are still very much together and have worked through their issues by being honest with each other and owning their mistakes.

The incident took place some 20 years ago when Daddo was acting in the US.

“Before I left the marriage, Alison viewed me in a certain way, and I was her

hero. What happened set off an atomic bomb that just blew that apart,” Daddo, 53, told the website.

“We had to move into a whole new playing field. It’s important to know that if you’re going through it. Don’t try to make your relationship what it was before, because it will never be that way again. But it can be something new, something that you grow from.”

Speaking from experience, Daddo said “honesty is the best policy” when it came to infidelity.

“Repairing a marriage takes two,” he explained.

“In my case, I was the one that left the marriage. But we both had counselling afterwards.

“Ali took responsibility for what she was doing in the relationship and how that was working, and it all became more about a willingness of each person to go into their own pattern of behaviour and work out what creates it.”

He continued: “If you don’t want to be in the marriage, you want to be with someone else, you’re probably better off doing that. But when I acted out in that way, I didn’t really want to be there. There were reasons how I got into that place. And a lot of it was alcohol and being alone, feeling really lonely and being literally oceans away from my partner.”

Daddo and former model Brahe have three children together.

“To repair the marriage, there has to be willingness from both parties. The person that’s done it can’t just turn around and go, ‘Look, I won’t do it again, I promise,’ and expect the partner to believe that. I think it takes a lot of understanding, a lot of care, because things change. Your marriage can never be the same again. It moves into a different realm.”
