After a year and half on the sidelines, professional high jumper Amy Pejkovic is back on track — literally.
Competing in her first event at the weekend following a major knee injury, the 26-year-old said she “could not be happier.”
“I had cartilage damage to my left knee and patella tendonitis, so I had PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections, a lot of physiotherapy and rehab work, which has been annoying but I’m back now,” Pejkovic told Confidential.

“When I’m not competing, I feel like there’s a little part of me missing but I’m pretty good at staying on track and not losing focus.”
Also celebrating 7 years since she underwent surgery to remove a benign brain tumour, Pejkovic now uses her health scare as motivation.
“My health is perfect and everything is all clear, but it’s insane, I don’t know where the time has gone,” she said.
“It’s always in the back of my mind, you know, what if it comes back but that drives me to do more with my life. You never know what’s going to happen tomorrow or in a few seconds so I try to take everything as it comes and enjoy life.”
As an advocate for eating a balanced diet to keep her health in check, Pejkovic has signed on as an ambassador for Vietnamese restaurant, Roll’d, Choice Is Yours campaign.
“Through this, I can help drive the message to not be fooled by ‘healthy’, ‘low-carb’ labels and to help create awareness and enable people to make the right choices, especially when on the run.”
