Adelaide celebrity chef Callum Hann is cooking up something extra special: his first child with wife Crystal Jagger.

Adelaide celebrity chef Callum Hann is cooking up something extra special: his first child with wife Crystal Jagger.

The couple has revealed they’re going to become parents in late September and Callum says they couldn’t be more excited.

“I feel like it’s obviously an intimidating thing in a way, it’s an amazing responsibility we’ve got but we’re both super excited and looking forward to giving it a red hot crack,” says the MasterChef favourite and SA Weekender presenter.

“Crystal’s taken to it (pregnancy) like a duck to water, she’s reading all the books and eating the right food, she’s doing a great job. Like both of us, she just can’t wait to have a third human in our life.

“We still have figure out how it’s all done but we’re lucky, we've got so much support around us and lots of people we can ask questions.”

The couple, who tied the knot in the Adelaide Hills in April last year, will wait a few weeks to find out the sex of the baby.

“I think we’ll try to find out at some stage. We’re both fairly organised people so finding out the sex would be good so we can be organised and ready,” says Callum.

Callum, 29, who finished runner-up to Adam Liaw on the 2010 season of MasterChef, has since gone on to co-host Seven’s lifestyle show SA Weekender, and also runs Sprout Cooking School with Themis Chryssidis.

“It’s all going really well, we've got more cooking classes going now than we have in nine years, so we’re really spreading the love,” he says.

Callum also reveals reigning MasterChef champ Sashi Cheliah will be coming to Sprout on August 2 to share the secret behind making a good curry.
