THE red carpet may have been packed with fresh faces, but apparently the 2017 Met Gala was “underwhelming.”

WHILE the 2017 Met Gala red carpet was abuzz with fresh faces, an insider says the event itself was underwhelming.
“It was very different from previous years,” a source told Page Six. “It felt like a party where none of the guests matched.”
First-time attendees Halle Berry, Celine Dion and Paris Jackson were among those who made splashy debuts.
“Paris was getting a ton of attention,” said the source, adding that the rising starlet was a guest of Calvin Klein. “Those Calvin Klein people were hovering parents. They were all over her.”
Noticeably absent were Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Sarah Jessica Parker and Andy Cohen, who have become red-carpet staples in previous years, leaving what our spy called “thirsty ones” to take over.
“The goal of this party is to have people mingle who aren’t necessarily friends,” the spy said. “That was not happening.”
The source continued, “There weren’t any great catfights — it was just kind of boring.”
Last year, Page Six reported the Kardashians worked the room well, becoming the big stars of the event. This year, as Kim Kardashian went solo without husband Kanye West, the family took a back seat, it seems.
The source says Yolanda Foster along with daughters Bella and Gigi, all guests of Tommy Hilfiger, mixed and mingled with fellow guests. Model Cara Delevingne along with designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen got lots of attention too, we’re told.
“Each person stayed in their zone,” the insider said. “You didn’t have some of the staples. It was odd.”
