Kate Middleton has once again shown off her serious sporting skills in Ireland – stealing her Prince William’s thunder after he earlier had locals cheering with his juggling prowess.
The Duchess of Cambridge had a crack at traditional Irish sports, hurling and Gaelic football, while Prince William watched on during the final day of the couple’s successful Irish tour.
Visiting the city of Galway, Kate was clearly comfortable on the sporting field, having grown up competing in rowing, hockey, swimming and tennis.
The royal couple chatted with excited local youngsters and hit balls across the field.
The mum-of-three looked entirely in her element at Salthill Knockncarra Gaelic Athletic Association in Galway.
The couple looked to be having a great time as a group of local kids cheered them on.
The couple’s visit comes three years after Prince William’s father Prince Charles also tried hurling in Ireland while visiting Kilkenny Castle in March 2017 as his wife Camilla watched on.
Earlier, Prince William wowed crowds – and his wife – as he showed off some impressive juggling skills in front of a roomful of artists and musicians.
The Duke of Cambridge deftly juggled three balls, which amused his wife no end, during a visit to a cultural centre in the city.
The 37-year-old future king showed some early nerves, but then kept all the balls in the air, prompting an enthusiastic round of applause from onlookers. His attempt at four balls, however, was less successful.
And Kate was clearly amused by her husband’s antics, bursting into laughter.
Chatting with young performers, Kate revealed that her two eldest kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, would have enjoyed the show.
“I wish we could have brought George and Charlotte along, they would have loved it!” she said.
The Duchess also opened up on Prince George’s new hobby.
“George is starting to learn the guitar,” she enthused.
She also told performers from the Galway Community Circus, that her daughter Princess Charlotte “is really into gymnastics, she’s doing cartwheels, handstands, everything”
It comes as the start of the couple’s final day in Ireland was delayed by half an hour after fog affected their helicopter flight from Dublin.

Once in Galway, the couple were given a preview of some of the arts and entertainment being featured during Galway’s year as the European Capital of Culture.
The city will see over 1900 events across more than 150 projects during 2020 with local and international artists taking part in the year-long extravaganza.
Later the couple visited a pub in the city centre before ending their tour with a visit to the sports club.
It comes as Meghan Markle has arrived back in the UK from Canada for the first time since she “stepped back” from the royal family in January.
