Sophie Monk’s on-air sex confession

Sophie Monk has revealed she was ghosted by American rapper Snoop Dogg.

The TV personality, who rose to fame singing in the girl band Bardot, said she once recorded songs with Snoop and never heard back.

“They were obviously very sh*t because I never heard from him after that,” she told Fitzy & Wippa on Friday.

“He was like, ‘You’re bringing me into a very different genre’ and I was like, ‘Oh, great.’”

Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, is said to have a net worth of about $US150 million ($A220 million).

His debut album Doggystyle was released in 1993 after he rose to fame featuring on Dr Dre’s album The Chronic.

As for Monk, it was the 2000 reality talent show Popstars that kickstarted her career. Bardot was formed on the show and won.

After the band split in 2002, Monk went on to release a solo album, Calendar Girl.

Monk clarified that she was not rapping with Snoop, but rather he was rapping on a track she was singing on.

She said she thought she was “going to be huge”, but never heard back from the famous rapper or heard the track.

“I think he even burnt it,” she joked.

Monk also revealed she once played Snoop’s fiance in an ad for MTV, but the ad got pulled.

She described him as a “gentleman”.

Monk released a new single last year, Nice to Meet You. She said appearing on The Masked Singer in 2021 helped get her confidence back.

Speaking to news.com.au ahead of the release, she said she was worried she would disappoint people with the new song.

“Because you’d kind of expect it’s going to be real pop, nightclubby. It’s not that at all,” she said. “It’s more a jazz vibe, which is because I came from classical music and jazz.”

In response to whether they’d be a Bardot reunion, Monk said they had all moved on.

“I think we’ve all grown up very differently. It’s a bit like school, when you leave high school and you all kind of go your separate ways,” she said.
